Forward Steps and Previous Honors
You may have noticed that the theme of “moving foward” has been threaded throughout recent EBLI posts. 2010 seems to be the year that EBLI is truly beginning the expansion process. On that front, Nora is working with 8 school districts throughout the state on some grant-writing. If awarded a grant, all 8 districts would be part of a massive EBLI project to collect data on the effectiveness of the program. Keep your fingers crossed for us!
Also on the agenda is research on the effectiveness of EBLI for ACT preparation. Nora already met with the ACT committee for the state, and trainings are being planned for late summer/early fall of this year. The process of putting EBLI online is still in the works with several people across the country; very exciting!
Reminders: In the past few years EBLI and Nora have been honored with various awards and highlights, including being featured in the 50 in 52 Journey, being interviewed by Maya Angelou on Oprah Radio, and having a Michigan school district program based on EBLI receive a “Michigan’s Best” award. Visit the EBLI website to watch the videos, read the articles, and listen to the radio segment.
As always, we would be thrilled to have you and your family come visit us at OOPRC. Happy Spring and we hope you had a fantastic holiday weekend!
