EBLI Taping at USA School
This year has brought a whirlwind of activity to EBLI. The staff at OOPRC continues to see upwards of 40 clients a week, and Nora is booked solid for trainings through October! These events coupled with the energy of everyone in attendance at the first annual Teach the World to Read conference last month have created an environment of huge growth and excitement for everyone involved with EBLI.
Last week, Nora and Cricket consulted in 5 schools across the state and taped EBLI instruction in a kindergarten class at USA School. The adorable kids took a break after an hour of focused work to draw some pictures, and many chose to portray their versions of Nora – check out the one below. Thank you so much, USA, for allowing EBLI to tape with your students! We appreciate you, and everyone else who is helping to make Nora’s dream of teaching the world to read a reality.

Great job USA schools and all the people whom are committed to EBLI! In the northern part of the state: At East Jordan Middle School we just looked over the past three years of data and found that between 20-30% of the students entering 6th grade are approximately two grade levles below 6th grade. Of those entering the lowest students (6-8 individuals) are our special education population. By the time these same students end 8th grade, we have taken the total percentage of students below grade level down to 10-12% with only 0-1 special education student below grade level! EBLI is working and we are seeing it across the curriculum!
